Basket Ball front end

Smile Basket Ball front end

ok so when im driving down the highway around 70-75 if i hit a certin type of bump my whole driver side bouncess like there is a basketball under my truck. Any body know what might casue this.the tires are a little bald and i have not had it Allinged in a while.any help is greatfull

worn shocks? if it's bounce then generally the shocks are bad. if you hit a bump and there is massive shake then it's considered death wobble.

details on your truck would help... 2wd/4wd stock suspension or aftermarket, year etc...

ya my shocks are new its a 4wd. tires i think are off balance, going to get them remounted. any other things i should try?

sounds like it could be death wobble... get an alignment & put in as much caster as the tech can do without rubbing. tell him to forget the spec. IIRC, the upper spec is something like 4.8 or so... mine are set at 5.0 or more on both sides (I forget exactly what they were at). and do not have a DW problem.

also, the tracbars suck and wear quickly. look to http://www.thurenfabrication.com/home.html for a good replacement. I have had both the 2nd gen & 3rd gen bars and like them both.

if you do the alignment & it fixes the problem, post it here please... I think you have DW and am 100% convinced that 99% of the time the caster adjustment will fix the problem. others will point to this & that on the steering and suspension, I've had all of them bad and still did not have the DW on my truck after getting the alignment done.
