Slow to Go tranny
Hey I have done a search but none on what my issue is about. I have a 2006 Dodge ram 2500 quadcab 4x4 with the cummins engine and auto tranny.I just bought it about a month ago. It has 38,000 miles on it and just this week when the truck is cold the tranny is a little slow on moving . My guess is torque converter. I'm kinda scared dont have a whole lot of extra cash floating around for many tranny upgrades . By the way it is stock supposedly never had any programmers on it although I do want one . Thanks for any info
So I alsohave an 06 qd cab ctd, around 58k i had to put in a new tranny. if the tranny is slow moving at low speeds that some what normal, it feels like its shifting slow. If you try to excerlate a little harder and it does the same thing, try to change the fluids out. I flush my new tranny about every 6k i also drive my truck about 1,500k a week. But if you are new to the truck than def flush it out real good. if problem is still there rec. you bring it to a tranny doctor.
Jason: I have an 06 Mega. If my truck has been sitting a while or if it is real cold outside, the tranny acts slow off the start. I have asked the dealership about this and they said that it has something to do with (1) fluid draining from the convertor and (2) line pressure. I haven't given it anymore thought since then. I take my time with it if it is cold/been sitting a while and everything is fine.
Thanks for the info mine only does it when it has sat all night and I first crank up. if I put it in reverse and drive a time or two its good to go but if I just crank up and put in gear it has to rev up to get to moving ; kind of like its slipping , once im going its flawless . Yesterday morning it did throw an engine code took it to advance auto parts to get the code read . It was a transmission malfunction 1755 kind of generic to me .
