Default abs and brake warning light

Hey guys I am new to this forum, but I need your guys help. I have a 1997 dodge ram 2500. I had to replace the altanator because my gen light came on. Well I was on the road when it happen and only a mile from my house so i drove it home after 2 jumps, but the abs and brake warning light came on. I have only had the truck for 3 days and didn't know a lot about it. Why would the sudden lose of power cause the lights to come on and how can I get them off. Oh ya the guy who had it before had the brakes replaced right before he got rid of it.

Check the rear wheel speed sensor on top of the rear differential. I will cause this and is a common problem...
