Default Cummins Fuel question

Hello all. this is my first time on this forum. Sorry for the long post but there is alot of info to this. I have an 04 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins diesel. It is an automatic with 4WD. I recently had an issue where the truck started fine but would not go past idle. i took the truck to the dealership and the did a fuel sample, which they said was good to go, and diagnosed the problem as a bad transfer pump and an actuator. They had the work done in less than a day so I was happy. Picked the truck up and it ran fine until the next morning. when I started the truck it ran extremely rough and the engine continued to rev even after you let off of the throttle. I took it back to the dealership that did the maintenance and let them know that there was a new issue that had surfaced since after they had changed the pump/actuator. After diagnosing the issue they told me my fuel had been contaminated and it would not be covered by warrantee. My issue is that I did not add fuel after their last maintenance. It was the same fuel the had tested the day before. I took the truck to another garage and they assured that the pump in my tank was not new. It was coved in dry hard packed dirt.
When I confronted the orginal dealer they swore the pump was new and even said they had upgraded it by moving it from the block to being tank mounted. I cannot find a TSB or recall for the fuel pump relocation. Has anyone seen this?

I did the fuel pump relocation on my 01 Cummins. Standard SOP with the Bosch lift pumps.

Now you know why we call them "stealers". If you had to pay the stealer for the pump work, get a lawyer and file a complaint with the better business bureau. You'll need the other shop's sworn statement, and the old "new" pump. Keep all paperwork you got from the stealer.
If they covered it under warranty, just be glad they didn't F it up worse. OH yeah, DON"T GO BACK THERE!!!
