Default Freon Level

I would like to check the level of Freon in my Dodge 2500 and also my wifes VW Jetta. Can someone please recommend a set of gauges that I should use or the best way to go about doing this. Thanks so much.

You can buy a recharge kit at any auto parts store that comes with a gauge. Or you could buy just a set of gauges. Harbor freight has them pretty cheap.

I just went and got the recharge kit that had a gauge with it. This will get her over the hump until I can maybe figure out if there is a leak and where.
