Question Cummins swap...help

i have 1995 ram v10, and am sick of the terrible gas mileage
i love diesels and have wanted one, so i am thinking of doing
a cummins swap. i'd get a new tranny as well, probably manual,
and was wondering if ya'll had some knowledge to help me out.

i know that a diesel will get better mileage but otherwise what are
some positives that would come from a swap?
what would cost be for a cummins new or in good shape?
would this be something my friends and i could do?
what cummins should i go with? 12v? 24v?

any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks

i did it to my 98. for ease of everything i would try to find a 94 to 97 12 valve. a wrecked truck would be your best bet especially if your going to do an auto to manual swap. really it is just a bolt in setup, there are a lot of little things to take care of but no real modifications. and yes.... alot better mpgs over the v10

i only run manuals, a lot cheaper and a lot less stuff to go wrong, but its all just an opinion, its yours, so build it to make ya happy.

The manual is a tougher trans comparing stock to stock.
They have had problems with 5th gear on the Manual but that is usually from people towing heavy loads in overdrive.
