did you have the flexable brake lines replaced as well? If not that may be the cause, the rubber in the brake line breaks down over time and what happens is, as you apply pedal pressure the lines may "bulge" causing issues. Also the lines may even become brittle and leak. You may have a bad brake line that is causing the caliper to stick and wearing out the pads prematurely.

I suggest new (flexible)brake lines and a flush. Also check the calipers for damage/leaking seals.

Sounds like the ABS motor is kicking in.

Are you sure one of the wheels isn't locking up?

Check your ABS sensors.

Also, and this sounds like caveman speak, check the pads and make sure they not in BACKWARDS. Yes, I've seen it.

I had the truck in the air last night and the pads i put on were barely used none of the pistons in the calipers were collapsed or forzen. My brake lines looked to be in order. So i just cleaned everything. I will look more into the ABS sensor today.

My advice would be this.....

1 - Bleed the brakes. Make sure you didn't get any air in the system when you changed the pads.

2 - If that doesn't help....

Take it to the dealer and have them hook it up to the DRBIII and see if there is anything odd going with the ABS system.

Losing the pedal pressure and the "grinding" sound is exactly what happens when the ABS system kicks in.

Could be the ABS motor itself, but more than likely one of the wheel speed sensors is out of whack and giving the ABS system the wrong signals.
