Default valve lash ?

I notice everyone says to set their valves to int .10" to exh .20". I have an 06 cummins and mine says int .10" to .26" just wondering what my tolerences might be. Thanks for any help, it would be greatly appreciated. Want to adjust mine this week.

10 and 20 thousandths are the "set to" spec but there is a wide range of whats acceptable.
First scheduled adjustment isn't until 100k anyway.
Very low maintenance design on the 24v engine.

scheduled or not, I would adjust them to the center of the spec. your motor will quiet down if they are loose and the you will know where you stand with them. I did mine at 50~60k or so (dont remember exactly) and it quieted the motor down significantly. KerstenP's truck sounds very loud in comparison. one thing to mention is I also have my bypass return line feeding the oil fill cap, that also contributes to a quieter motor.
