Default Installing Flex-a-lite 264 Monster ELectric Fan

The stock fan clutch is electronically controlled/ manual operation and not working properly. (Temps gettin up to 210 with no load) I'm gonna have to bypass the factory harness- obviously there will be no signal from the new fan so it's gonna eventually throw a code (and the dealership cannot overide it)... I'm thinking about wiring a "dummy" harness or jumper wire from the new fan to the computer so that it receives a signal... Anyone already done this??? Any ideas???

Why not leave the stock one in and put your new one on the front as a pusher?

No one has found an electric fan that will move as much air as the stocker can. If you so tow you will have problems with overheating.

As long as you keep the GCW under 18K, you shouldn't have problems with the 264.

I moves 5800 CFM, so unless you regulary tow over 10K lbs, you'll be okay.

Also, it will throw 2 codes, but they are soft codes and will not effect engine performance.

You can get rid of them by wiring in a set of resistors so the ECM thinks the fan is still there.

You'll need to try 10 ohm and 33 ohm resistors to see which one keeps the CEL from coming on.

They cost 0.99 for a pack of 5 at Radio Shack.
