Default Low power at take-off

Hi All,

I've had a strange situation the last couple of days. When I put my truck into drive and go to take-off, I have very little power. The truck eventually gets up to speed but it takes a little while. It actually resembles what it feels like when I'm towing a heavy load until it builds up momentum. Or if I were driving a manual and holding the clutch in partway. I can overcome the problem by downshifting into Low 1 or Low 2, and then the truck takes off just fine.

I've had the problem happen twice before - once in summer during real hot day and once in winter but both times only happened for a short time (less than a day) and then was fine. However, this time I'm at the end of day 2 with the condition so I'm more concerned.

Once the truck gets going, all driving and shifting is fine.

Any ideas?
