Default Looking to buy - have some Qs about the 2006 vs older models

I am looking at buying a 3500 with the 5.9. I had heard that the 2006 model was a good choice as the cab was changed a fair amount. I think also this is the year the mega cab came out. If I can't find a mega cab in my price range, was their really that much of a difference made in 2006 on the standard crew cab that would make it that much better?
Thanks much.

The MegaCab is enormous inside compared to the QuadCab.

Most folks seem to like the interior though of the 03 - 05 trucks better than the '06+ trucks.

Thanks much for the info. - I am having second thoughts about the mega cab though - I heard they don't leave enough box room to tow a 5th wheel - any one know for sure?
Thanks

They can easily tow a 5th wheel, but you need to have a slider, preferably an auto slider.

It's got a standard short box on it and like any other short box, you need the sliding 5th wheel to avoid contact with the rear of the cab.
