Default Differential & Tranny fluid

I just visited the Dodge dealer concerning the recommended fluid changes for my 08 Ram
4 X 4 6.7 Cummins, 6 speed manual. I was quoted $175 per differential. I know it takes syn gear oil, but this sounds nuts? Am I missing something?

Also, I think I'm seeing the Mercedes provided 6 speed manual tranny uses automatic transmission fluid, instead of oil? Thanks for your thoughts.

I got a 04 5.9 auto Last week I put all synthetic fluids in mine. If I was you I would just do it yourself. Don't pay to have all that done. I didn't the only thing I didnt understand was the rear diff (on my truck) the plug hole is not the full mark its way below that there is a line on the diff cover for the full mark.
