Towing Weight
I know the max towing capability of my truck by the bumber is 16,400. Is that the same as if I was towing a gooseneck? I was looking at a trailer, but it maxes out at 20,000lbs. The salesman says that it is fine and he pulls it with his Dodge. Is that too much weight for my truck? I do not want to over do it. Thank you for any info.
I have a 2007 3500HD Dually 4X4 with a 6.7.

DUDE 22k 5th wheel hitch in the bed of your truck will pull anything!
You will be fine just get a nice 22k hitch they make cheep ones where you save money not worth it. I have a husky 22k hitch use it to hook up a 5th wheel tri axle duel tire marina trailer to haul boats. Max boat weight 18k trailer is 4k goes and stops good with good trailer brakes. you have a exhaust brake on your truck also?
i have 04 Ram 3500 quad cab Cummins 4 sp auto 4x4
hope that helps
