Default changing rear brakes/wheel cyl

hey, recently purchased a 94 cummin's. Got it looking nice with a new paint job and lift.

I'm new to diesels and need to change a wheel cyl on my rear brakes. I've done alot of brake jobs, but I'm unsure how to get the drum off the rear.

So far, I took off the floating axle with the eight 9/16's bolts, put the axle aside and now it seems as though i have to use like a 3" special socket or something to get the drum out. Also seems like some sort of special snap ring before the bolt?

Anybody have any tips for me on this...?

ya, you have to pull the wheel bearings to get the drums off... not that big of a deal though, but if you are going to replace the wheel cylinders, go with the GM cylinders Napa P/N #37337 big improvment

On my '96 the drums come off without disturbing the axles. I think your are the same. Simply remove the wheels and pull them off. You will have to back off the brake adjustment.
