2004 2004.5 question
Ok guys how can you tell the difference if you have a 2004 or a 2004.5 truck production date 2/04 motor 325 hp CTD . for the 2004.5 what is the HP? Is my truck considered a 2004 or 2004.5? this has stumped me I am about to order some parts for my truck and I am not sure what motor i have got. with the 325 hp its a 2004. and the 2004.5 is supposed to have like 390hp I heard that from a guy that gets 32 mpg on his dodge 2500 ctd YEAH RIGHT he's a Bull Sitter
going by the production date 2/04 is past the half way point 6/04 would be a 2005. so if i am thinking correctly anything past 12/03 is considered a 2004.5 YES?????

Look on the driver side of your engine. On there by the valve cover will be a sticker with engine specs. It will either say engine HP 305 or 325. If it is a 305 you have an 04. If you have a 325 you have a 04.5 engine. More widely known as the "600" series Cummins.
There is no 390 stock 5.9 engine... and yes he is probably a bull sitter haha

that's what I wanted. I tried looking up on cummins dealer website at work and it only shows you that you have a 325 hp serial# the basic parts list when the engine was made where it was made BS like that.
Thanks
but now that changes things around for parts I'm sure
