Default Strange overhead console problem

Well,
Hello everyone, i'm new to the group. Just bought myself a used 2005 Ram 3500 dually loaded Cummins. When i bought it i knew that the center overhead console was not working, but assumed worst it could be was an info module up there. After i got it home, i pulled it down only to realize that is was unplugged (immediately i knew that wasnt good). I plugged it in and when it is plugged in, it will not allow the truck to run and throws a "no bus" on the odometer. Figured i didnt really have the time, wiring diagrahms, and computers to mess with it i took it to my local dealer. They had it for a bit and told me the overhead module was bad and ordered one. When it came in, i dropped it off again, and shortly after that, they called and said well thats not it. I left it with them, they tore the head liner, piller covers, parts of the dash and so much much more out of it looking for a short. They called dodge gold tech support and they told them they must have gotten a bad overhead module and had them order another. Well, that came in and it was not the problem (like i didnt know that was nonesense). In the end, they tried to charge me for 8 hours of labor ( we settled on 4, after my hissy fit). He said eventually they would find it and i had to let them know now at this point how much i would authorize for them to work on it. He said he could get another 8 in it and possibly still not have found it. I said forget it and left. Can anyone help me with this one? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, John
