You need to know that there are several different versions of the 5.9 Cummins. First there was the rotary pump 160hp, 12 valve, commonly called a 1st gen. Then the 180hp, 12 valve, inline injection pump, 2nd gen. Then the 24 valve, electronic IP, 3rd gen. Then the common rail 24 valve 4th gen. There are also marine, and stationary motors.
You can buy them new, or reman, directly from Cummins or a Cummins authorized distributer.

It really depends on what you want it for, and what you can afford.
