Default Difference behind 2000 47re and 2003 47re

Hello, i have a 2003 3rd gen cummins with a 47re, i found a used 2000 47re with a lot of billet parts so i'm interested in the swap... what are the difference in the two tranny ?
i was told that the thread size of the hole that i circled in red in the pic is different, is this true ? any other problems ?

Yeah, actually that is a different size.

There are two different part numbers for the transmission coolant return lines.

One part number is for 98.5 - 02 and the other is for 03 - 07.

Let me see if I have a tranny line laying around the shop and I'll check the thread size for ya.

No promises, but I'll take a peek. I think I have one.

i thought that hole was for a sensor for the shift command... but you told it's for coolant return lines ?

any other issue for the swap ?

thanks again...

I thought I had at least one, but I don't.

I need to order a few lines to mod them for temp senders anyways.

You are correct. The 2000 model had a park/neutral safety switch there, the 03 has a range indicator in it. This is how your dash reads which gear it is in. And the thread is bigger on the 03 trans. More complex indicator, larger opening.
