OK Guys here are the pics I took tonight.
What intake is this? Is it any Good?

Here is a look insde the turbo. Does it look normal? There is a little black in there??

ALSO here is a pic of a small weapage I found in the front of the pan. I think the front seal might be weaping? It does NOT drip just stains the front of the pan?
Is this normal for 109K? Should I worry about it?

I also bought a Extended Warranty by Diamond Warranty. It covers just about everything for 4 years unlimited mileage.

Oh BTW...the used dealer swears he changed the oil, but it is black as coal???
He said that is normal on diesels...they blacken up the oil quickly???
My John Deere 410 does not make it that black that fast???

I know he bull ****ted about the fuel filter (said it was changed) We opened it up and it is Dirty w/ flakes of brown on it looks like rust and crap....

Thanks So Much for the Input

Intake look like an AEM Brute Force. Definitely not my first choice in filters.

Turbo looks like it got a little dusted, but pull the shaft back and forth and see if there is movement front to back and then move it side to side. They should be SLIGHT movement side to side and NO movement front to back.

Can't really see an weeping in those last two pics, they're both blurred.

Oil, yeah, as soon as you change it and start the engine, it'll be black as tar. Nothing unusual there.

Is the Brute force a steel tube that is chromed?? It sits in a stainless steel box w/ top open...if that helps
Are they any good??
We just soaked/cleaned the Air Cleaner. It is by the wood stove for the night to dry.
I have to spray it w/ oil when it dries right??

Yeah the weapage is slight, I will keep an eye on it. Is it normal on these engines to have some minor weapage w/ 109K on them??

I will run down to the garage now and ck the turbo...Be Righ Back...LOL
THANKS!!!!

OK....

The Turbo shaft moves slightly when pushed side to side.
It does not move at all when trying to push back to front.
Good Right???

By dusted what do you mean?? Dirt getting by the AC??

What can I clean the turbine fins with??

Like I said before , it whistles pretty good now. And if you look it still has the silencer ring installed. Not sure if I should remove it? Does it get a lot louder??

THANKS

Yes, the turbo is fine if there is no front to back movement and slight side to side. That's perfectly normal. It moves side to side because the shaft is actually floating in oil in the journal bearings....it's just the oil clearance around the shaft.

Don't worry about cleaning that off the fins. More than likely it's in there pretty good. Unless you remove the compressor housing you'll be doing more harm than good anyways.

If you remove the silnecer ring it's whistle a lot louder.

Whewww
You got me worried So I got out of bed and went back down to the garage.
It must be the picture. That shiny spot is just behind the impeller, it seems to step down about 1/8" . That area is clean as a whistle, just the impeller and housing in front of it have like a black dust/soot kind of residue on them.

Any idea what this is??
Maybe from the filter being oiled??
Which brings up the ? Do I need to spray this filter w/ K&N filter oil before we put it back on?
THANKS
Gonna try to stay in bed now...lol

It's mainly dust that has gotten by the filter.

Personally, I don't really like K&N or AEM, they just let too much crap through. That black crap on the impeller is a combination of dust and oil and it usually pits the blades a bit. Nothing to be REALLY concerned about, but......

If anything, swap the filter itself for an S&B or an AFE Pro-Guard. They d a much better job.

As for spraying that filter, is it a paper or gauge? AEM has both kinds.
