Default >>>>>> In desperate need of some answers!! <<<<<<

I have a 2003 Dodge 2500 5.9 Cummins Turbo Diesel runnin on 6 brand new OEM fuel injectors... While I'm driving maintaining a constant speed, my engine cuts out and sputters back to life after a couple of seconds. no check engine light but I have a code of P 0524, I went and wiggled wires by the trucks computer and erased the code to see if it would come back. It still cuts out frequently but now I have different codes which are P 2121 & P 2122. The origional P 0524 code is gone but now I have these codes and I still have the same problem of the engine cutting out and sputtering back to life as before.. I am not the smartest tool in my pappy's shed when it comes to Cummins Diesel, but I would most definitely appreciate any help and advice I can get... Thank You in advance!!

If you did the work yourself your gonna have to try and diag it. if a dealer put the new injectors in then take it back to them and see what they say. but its probly gonna be somthing with along the lines of not enough rail pressure somehow its not gettin enough fuel or a solenoid on the top of the injectors isnt working which could possibly be ecm problem. i dont have my scanner with me to look up the dtc's i tried to google em and had no luck becuase their a manufacture specific code. if you did them yourself go back and check all your wiring conections you may have unpluged or anything you took off. double check everything. if you can check fuel pressure to the cp3 pump and if at all possible check the rail pressure. some of the other guys with common rails will probly chime in.

check your wires at the AAPS and to the computer make sure they are not broken You or someone could have moved or smashed the wires to the aaps or the computer when installing the injectors... I also see that you are in Northern IN... Where? I'm in Chicago

That ssecond set of codes is the APPS. Pedal position sensor range and low input.

That will certainly cause the sputtering.

That first code is low engine oil pressure.

Do you have a volt meter?

You to check the voltage coming off the signal wire to the ECM.

There are 3 wires coming off of it.....5V power, ground and signal to the ECM.

Put the hot lead on the signal and the black on the ground, turn the key to run and put the pedal though it's full range of motion.

Watch the voltage as you do it.

You're looking for a smooth increase in voltage as you depress the pedal and a smooth decrease as you back off.

If it jerks, sticks or falls off in the pedal movement, you need to replace it.

Ok, I had my truck in the shop now for @ 3-4 days and the entire time they had it - nothing! everything ran superb.... no codes nothing. so we concluded that it might have been the fuel jelling up on us and throwing codes. Went to go pick up the truck yesterday, put on about 50 miles or so, came home and reinstalled my Edge w/ Attitude and drove approx 20 miles, filled up, added Standadyne fuel supplement, and pulled out of the gas station parking lot and stepped on the pedal to take off and the engine stalled on me completely, throwing 2 different codes. P 2146 & P 2149. anybody have any ideas at all??? I double checked ALL my wire harness connections on the Edge/Fuel Injectors and everything seems good. I'm at a complete loss for words... Any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Those two codes are your injector circuits.

They show as group A and group B.

Check the connections on the to your injector harness.

If you check the injector harness and all is well but you still have a problem, try removing the edge again. If the cures it you have your answer.

Default I am having the same problem... code 2122. showing up.

I have a 2003 Dodge Diesel Quad Cab truck and it is coming up with the 2122 code off an on. I have erased the code with the reader and later it will come on again. Along with the decreased acceleration and then the slow regaining of acceleration but repeatedly when it chooses to do it. Does anyone have any ideas? I know it is the Pedal Position Sensor 1 Low input. Do we have to replace the sensor?or can you reset it? It is really expensive to take it to the shop and we 90% of the time fix everything ourselves. Thanks for the help everyone!!
I need to get it fixed asap.....
