Overhead console question
HELLO EVERYONE AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL, I'M WORKING BUT THE $$ IS GOOD SO I CAN'T COMPLAIN, ( HELL NOBODY LISTENS ANYWAY..LOL). I JUST BOUGHT MY 2005 DODGE RAM 2500 QC 5.9, HOW ACCURATE IS THE OVERHEAD CONSOLE, IT SOMETIMES SAYS I'M GETTING LIKE 26 TO 30 MPG AT AROUND 68 MPH AT 1800 RPMS ON A STRIGHT FLAT ROAD, BESIDES THE FILLING IT UP ROUTINE AND CHECKING MILAGE THAT WAY IS THERE A WAY TO CALIBRATE IT IF POSSIBLE. SEEMS LIKE IT'S WRONG GETTING THAT MUCH, BUT WHEN I GO ABOVE 70 MPH AT 2200 TO 2300 RPM, IT CAN DROP DOWN TO 19/20 MPG AND/OR 24/26 MPG ????, THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP, AWSOME SITE, GLAD I'M HERE
as far as i know you cant calibrate em but i may be wrong. my fathers truck on the intersate around the same speed will get up as hi as 24 mpg but when you hand caculate it the over head console is usually off by around 1 to 2.5 mpg just depends.. hope that helps alittle.
LIE-O-METER
its not accurate the lowest mine will go is 14.9 mpg and i was getting 8.2 mpg by hand cal... OK i was hauling a boat with a fly bridge.. a big Parachute in the wind..
empty its +/- 3 mpg off depends on the driving
