Default 2007 5.9L Fuel Delivery Error

The truck has a mostly stock engine, intake, removal of the cat, aftermarket muffler. The truck no longer starts on its own. I have to spray wd40 into the intake elbow to get the engine running since ether could likely cause more damage. The idle sounds rough, pulsing. On the highway if I accelerate hard enough it will continue upwards for 2 seconds on its own, will hold 65mph without my input for over a minute, and with the cruise on seems to surge slightly. The surging I see, my boost goes up which makes me think its not getting fuel in those short instances. There is no shortage of acceleration either which my cousins truck had a problem with when his FASS blew a fuse, but his still started on its own. The lift pump primes as it should when key on, the fuel filter canister is full with a brand new filter in it now to be sure. What I found to be strange was this was a progressive problem, went from turn the truck over for 1-2 seconds, then for 2 weeks it took 3-4 seconds consistantly in which time I figured it was the batteries so I put in two brand new ones. That was last week, after driving 2000km to Jasper back to Saskatoon with no problems. This thing started last month when it was -47 without so much as a peep of complaint or hesitation. Always run fuel conditioner too. Code that comes up is p0148. Well, that's all I've got from my side. Hope somebody knows what this is since I doubt it's covered under powertrain warranty.

I'm gonna say that you're looking a problem with the Fuel Control Actuator (FCA) on the CP3.

That's what controls the pressure delivered to the rail and will definitely cause the issues you're having.

Sounds like a sticky Fuel Control Actuator on top of your CP3.

This thread has a picture of what you are looking for. Dodge doesn't sell just the FCA, they'll sell you the whole pump. You can get just the FCA from a Cummins dealer.

Took it to the dealer so they could run a diagnosetic, here is what they say.
---Check fuel volume and fuel presure check fuel return check injectors #1 740 fuel return #2 450 #3 680 #5 470 #6 700 needs 3 injectors #2-3-5 cylinder injectors---
Sorry but on the service invoice it's all a run on sentence too. Worst part is I don't have engine warranty since I had a lift put on, and here I thought engine warranty was the only thing I had. Couple friends and family that run programmers and bolt ons like intake elbows and banks intercoolers have not one issue with theirs, and my all stock engine kicks...damn. Well, looks like a good time to get better injectors. Thanks for your help anyways guys.

It just stopped starting properly one day. And I think the light only came on after the engine started.
