4x4 problems

My 96 Cummins Automatic is shifting into 4x4 but the light isnt coming on and it is still in 2 wheel drive.

Im new to the diesel world, anywhere I should start?

check the vacuume lines, from cad on the front axle, to the t-case, and back to the vacuum pump
