stopped at a stop sign last night and could not get the tranny out of 5th. shifter moves around, won't engage another gear though. this happen to anyone else?

 

happens sometimes, normally you can pull the shifter off the top of the trans and put everything back in place, it means things are getting worn, i have seen this before where you can put it back together and never happen again or happen all the time. you could have broke a shifting fork but i doubt it, pull the boot and shifter and see what you find and let us know
