Default transmission problems

Hello my name is Barry and I have a 2005 ram 2500 cummins 4x4 and my transmission is starting to act up. It shifts from 1st to 2nd and back to 1st and back to 2nd like it is searching for a gear. Once I hit 3rd gear everything is fine. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and knows how to fix it. All advice is greatly appreciated Thank you.

check the wire from the a/c clutch to the hasness, it has a tendacy to rub through on the a/c lines and cause some strange electrical problems, including shifting, also check the harness to the trans and back towards the engine for other possible shorts, other than that it might be the trans on its way out

it is a haunt The governor pressure solenoid and governor pressure sensor.

If your mechanically able to do the job you will need to pull the trans pan off drain fluid and change it... Common problem on the 48re trans... their is a upgraded version of this try checking with this guy Name is Rich and his website is WWW.doghousediesel.com ... Just tell him your a member of Dodge forums and tell him you need The governor pressure solenoid and governor pressure sensor... if he can't get you one He can direct you where too get one.. don't bother with ebay those ones that they sell on their are junk.... If i could link you to several sites that the people try and save a buck and the parts don't work or are not the correct ones...get them through companies that sell out right or to dealers...

Thanks for the info. Called Rich and left a message. I think I will try this fix on my own.
