We have a 2006 3500 dually diesel. We need another one. Ours pulls great and gets good fuel mileage empty and so-so pulling. We're planning to buy used. We pull a big trailer 50% of the time and use it around town the other. My question is, are the newer ones better or worse? And why? Ours is a 5.9L, when did they quit making that engine?

as far as fuel mileage the new ones get worse. they quit making the 5.9 in 07. they put the 6.7 in the trucks half way through 07.
