Default Transmission/driveshaft problem? need help

Lately, my Automatic 2005 5.9L (99,000 miles) has been making some awful noises from underneath. If it's cold, it's very hard to shift out of park. I have to raise the rpm's and shift at the same time to get it out of park. When it's warm, it's only somewhat difficult to shift out of park.

When I finally do get it into gear (reverse or drive), there is a horrible clunking noising...as if it is engaging into gear very hard.

When driving, i notice quite a bit of shifting trouble going from 1st to 2nd and also from 2nd to 3rd.

I decided to have the trans flushed a couple weeks ago. This didnt really seem to fix anything.

The other day, i noticed a sound that resembled sticking a baseball card in a bicycle spoke. It only made this noise during acceleration. Today, it was much louder and sounded horrible. I looked under the truck and there seems to be fluid all over everything. (transmission, driveshaft, oilpan, etc.) I'm not sure if it was oil, b/c it doesnt actually drip or make a spot on the ground when parked. I'm stumped.

She is going into the dealer tomorrow. If it needs a new tranny or driveshaft, than that's all she wrote. I'm gettin rid of it, if that's the case. I have been very disappointed with the fact that I've had the truck for 13 months and have put more money into repairs, than I have toward actually paying it off.

Does anyone have any ideas or similar problems/noises? Every vehicle i have ever owned was a dodge, but i cant keep putting it in the shop, when i need it for work everyday. I really love Dodge and my Cummins, but I will be switching to a (please dont be mad) Powerstroke, depending on tomorrow's checkup.

well, the other 4 diesels in our fleet are all Powerstrokes. 2 of them have the dreaded 6.0 and none of them have had any problems. engine wise, nothing compares to the cummins, but if everything around the engine is going bad, that doesnt do me much good either.

Bad u-joint, bad shifting interlock cable, and leaky trans pan. Dealer said they would take care of the trans pan since it was probably their fault anyways. Looks like I'll be keeping the beast for a while

Nevermind, it looks like I may have jumped the gun on the good news. After they fixed everything, it appeared that everything was fine. However, the mechanic took it for a drive and every time he got on it, it shifted horribly. They are keeping it overnight to run more tests. They said it appears to be internal. This is very bad news for me.

3rd gear is pretty much toast. $5,000 to rebuild or replace. I'm very disappointed about this....really loved this truck.
