Default Annoying Exhaust Rattle at Idle

Has an annoying rattle sound at idle....stops when I hold my food on the pipe...lubed the rear rubber hanger, thought that would help but didn't.

Sounds like it's coming from the hanger area/s and not inside the pipe. Any way to silence it? Should I replace the rubber hangers? It is an aftermarket exhaust, but it's straight and true otherwise. Thanks

take a look at the entire system, its probably rubbing the truck somewhere, most common area is the trans crossmember, or the rear shock, the hangers usually wont make any noise

Nope, no metal on metal anywhere, it's a resonance or harmonic rattle....any light pressure on the pipe will silence it....

install a shorter hanger somewhere on the system. it will create a pressure on the pipe and resolve your resonance issue

Check the transmission dip stick.

This is a spot that frequently comes into contact with the down pipe and can be annoying as all heck.
