Default Front bumper replacement & Tick coming from Engine

I was trying to replace the front bumper on my Dad's 2007 3500 and after loosening the four nuts that attach the bumper to the frame, I could not pull out the brackets since there is not enough clearance the brackets hit the rad before they're through the frame. Any ideas on how to pull them out?

Also, I noticed that there is a strong tick coming from the drivers side when the engine is running that varies with engine speed. Any ideas on what this may be? It has about 80,000 km (45,000 miles~)on it now and has been used solely for heavy towing. He's going to take it to the dealer under warranty, but I'm guessing the stealership will say 'nothings wrong'.

Thanks!

After a little research, found out that the intercooler can be unbolted and shifted out of the way (up and out)

Also, the stealership is thinking it is a stuck injector and recommended 'deisel shock' does this stuff really work?
