2005 ram 3500 overheating
-I just returned from a trip to Colorado and Wyoming and had major problems with the truck overheating at higher elevations.I had the truck worked on and had the following items replaced.
--new water pump--old one was leaking
--new coolant fluid
--new rad cap
--new thermostat
--new electric engine fan--updated software to ECU to improve fan activation
--electrical wiring repair done on signal wire from Engine control module to electric fan but I still have the same problem.
-I don't think the engine fan is engaging when it is supposed to.
-From checking different web forums and the wiring diagram I think there is four input signals that will turn the fan on.
--one is coolant temperature
--intake pressure sensor
--transmission oil temperature
--AC system pressure.
--I have checked the 12v power supply to the fan -passed
--ground signal and 5v supply to hall sensor is also good and speed signal is read by the ECU so the dealer told me. Is there anything I am missing when doing the tests and any idea where connector C112 is located on the truck.
Thanks for any help,much appreciated
-Andy
