keep your factory intake, all the after market ones do is let dirt in the turbo and ruin it

chances are it will, the only way to move more air is to open the filter up allowing more particles through that shouldnt be in your engine

A large part of moving air is the tubes that the air is moving through - the stock plastic intake's #1 job is making it quiet, followed by moving air. There are baffles and restrictions within the air intake that reduce the flow, hindering the engine's ability to move air.

There are different grades of filtration in the aftermarket, for sure, so people should do their homework. I quit buying into K&N's marketing a while back. Their FIPK is good at moving air and keeping it cool, but the filter isn't great for the reason you pointed out.

Thanx again for all responses.
I decided to go with the 4" turbo back exhuast, EGR/Cooler delete, AFE cold air intake system, and the mini maxx tuner with the tranny upgraded overdrive tune from H&S.
WOW did it wake up this truck, power is unreal, shifts are way smoother than the stock tune, and you can sure hear the ole turbo now.
I should have some pictures up by the end of the weekend.

Yeah I know hoping to have the pictures up by Sunday night.
Also I only went with the 4" as this truck was never ment to pull or race.
Just looking for the extra mileage, and to get rid of the DPF system.
I build ice roads up north and with the constant idle time that DPF system would have shut me down in less than two weeks.
The heaviest thing my Dually should ever see will be my sled or my quad.
Long live the RAM

I wish my truck was a 3500 instead of a 2500 - what's the difference? The sticker that says how much weight you are legally allowed to pull/haul, and a set of overload springs. The overload springs can be bought aftermarket, but that sticker can't. Ever been pulled over by the state cops while overloaded? You don't want to be, it's not generally a pleasant thing.

5" is overkill unless you're running bigger turbo(s) and a whole lot of fuel system upgrades. 4" is about perfect.

Even without the DPF, idling isn't all that great for them.
