Cool 04 ctd block to a 04.5 ctd CR block??

Hey guys, need info help. Will be taking my 05 engine out shortly. Can't decide on rebuilding it myseft or hand it out for work(rod knock). I did find a short block for sale $4,000. 30 over (mahle), std crank, & oil pan. There is only a few buck diff. between them, but he will deliv. right to my house, no charge and there is no real down time for rebuilding, mechine work.
Question is - will the 04 block work with my CR head & ***.? Dose the 04 block have the better rods? Another plus is...No Chore Charge!! So i can rebuild mine and keep it or sell it... What do you think...

Have been seeing a few cheap, 6.7 cummins, will they fit in a 05 chassis? what parts from the 6.7 would have to be removed to work in the 05. Will the trans bolt to a 48re, motor mounts?, Anyone done this? I think the turbo will have to go, possibly the ecm, will the 05 ecm work on the 6.7?
