well. i live in socal. i have a 96 ram 12valve diesel obviously cause im posting in this forum. lol but yea anyone from around here? i need someone that would be interested in coming and looking at my truck. sometimes its weird and it gives me warning lights and i start it later after shutting it down and it starts rite up and doesnt give me any prob. the other day it was raining. my GEN. light turns on. transmission gets stuck in 3rd im guessing. i pull up to a light. stop. it shifts into neutral, then i take off, it goes rite back into a hi gear, tranny wouldnt shift. tranny is my main concern cause i knw they go bad and watnot but i dnt think its bad i just think it has something to do with the throttle valve control. if the throttle valve control and the throttle dont move simotaniously then it screws everything up. so thats what im thinkin. if anyone has any questions or ideas. please feel free to ask or post cause i need as much help as possible. and no, im not taking it to the dealership. i dont like getting raped. but any info is great. thanks everyone.

 

#1 check and clean all battery cables and ground connections, #2 have the batteries tested, #3 have the altinator tested

 

well pretty sure the batteries are good. the truck starts no prob even in the cold and wat not. but yea. batt. cables need to get cleaned, i knw that. and the alt. looks clean, u knw how alt wen they start burning out they start getting black. this one is clean and doesnt smell hot or burnt. but maybe im dumb and that has nothing to do with it. but thats y im here asking. thanks man. ill have to get everything checked.
