Default Newbie Diesel

Ok Im not new to the dodge but I am to the diesel. So I need some info on what I need to remember about it. Any thing new I need to know. I was wanting to know about the winter warm up stuff. I do have a block heater and know about that but do I need to let it warm up for a certain amount of time before I start driving it. Around her it can get into the teens for sure but has dropped into single digits before to. I work about 2 miles from home so i dont know if that will have any difference in it. But if anyone can give me any help I would appreciate it. its an 06 5.9 megacab one ton.
Thanks All
Aaron

no matter what the temp, i give mine a minimum 5 to 15 minuite warm up before driving, and never hard on them untill full operating temp
