Default Loading & unloading aftermarket tunes...

I have a question about the aftermarket tuners....

How often can you load a custom tune that turns off the EGR & regeneration cycle (obviously with DPF removed) and then put the DPF back on and switch back to the stock tune.......?

Can this be done numerous times? Or do you run the risk of corrupting the engine computer each time you change it?

The scenario I have in mind is going to an offroad event once or twice a season. Drive there, remove DPF and download custom tune. After the weekend is done, reinstall the DPF and switch back to the stock tune....

Yes I know... why go through all the trouble, just leave it off, but I'm in California and need the truck able to pass a SMOG test.
