Stuck in 1st, no 2nd gear?
I looked at this thread and its close: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-c...irst-gear.html
I have a 1999 Ram 2500 with an auto trans...
Here's whats going on....when I take off, it stays stuck in 1st. But, if i give it enough fuel and let off, the auto trans will then coast into drive, and if it doesnt shift back down into 1st, i can normally take off okay from there.
When I manually downshift it, from OD to drive it holds back, when I pull it down into 2nd theres no hold-back, and then when i get slow enough to slide it down to 1, theres holdback.
Basically, no 2nd gear in upshifting and no 2nd gear even when manually downshifting.
Any ideas???

If there was anybody out there looking for an answer to this one...turns out, it was the 2nd gear actuator pin inside the tranny....about a $45 part, plus whatever it would cost to have the tranny pulled
