I bought a new Dodge Ram 2500 4X4
Hello everyone, well I Took the plunge and bought a brand new 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 Big Horn 4X4 diesel crew cab, somebich was not cheap and the 2 vehicles I traded both upside down made it worse. Anyway truck looks awsome runs great but crap lousyy milage according to the display on the monitor, will it get better milage as it breaks in, I was hoping to get about 21 mpg on highway and at least 15 around town. I did not do my homework this was a "well I will check out the new Dodges today at the dealership" and then I bought it. Can anyone give me info on how this truck is things to look for and do or not do....etc......thanks for all the help
yep, the milage is crap from 07.5 and newer, the best you can really expect is 17, if you get a dlelte pipe for the DPF you can remove it and get a smarty to turn it off and keep the codes away, along with shutting off the egr, that in its self will help out the engine a lot, with thoes things done, most are seeing milage in the 20's, however if you have warrenty issues, or need a smog you will have to put the dpf back on, and remove the programer and it is detectable for the dealer...
I thought I heard something about a new law being passed here about diesel smog, well crap, I traded in a 2005 dodge diesel for this...what a dumb****e

how hard is this to install and uninstall all the things that would make my truck run better and get better fuel mileage, also if iI had to take it back to the dealer and put on original stuff, will they know by computer or sight that I had those things on. I'm willing to do the changes to get better mileage if it's not to hard to switchem every 2 years...thanks for the info guys...
