Default High Idle Control...

Is this a an option from the factory or does every Cummins come with it? My boss can put his 2005 Cummins into high idle using his cruise control buttons however on my truck you can't. My truck will jump into high idle on it own when it's cold but I can't manually do it.

They are "supposed" to come with that feature enabled. However, there are some trucks that are not. I had to have the dealership enable that feature on mine when I bought my truck.

If it's enabled, sitting in park with your foot off the brake turn your cruise control on, hit set. Your rev's will climb to 1000. Hit the accel button and you can bring the rev's as high as 1500rpm if I remembe right.
