Things that go bad
I'm shopping up the diesel market for a new truck and what are some things to watch out for besides ball joints hubs and axle u joints. I'm going to look at an 01 24v with 92k on it... guy says there is an airdogg 150 pump on the truck and it looks like at one point there was an edge with hot lock on there as well. "I put on an Airdog 150, S&B intake, 4" MBRP exhaust with the muffler, and RV275's. I never installed a fuel pressure gauge since I had an Airdog on it right after I bought it but the seal went bad in it last year and it toasted my VP. I since then installed a new Airdog pump, Industrial Injection VP44, and fuel pressure gauge."

any diesel that has had big exhaust and chip/programmers on it is a sure sign that its lived a hard life. its likely that it has been run like a drag racer off of every stop light and pulled within an inch of its life. cummins also go through transmissions pretty fast especially when modified like that so i'd check that over pretty well. just be careful and be sure to test drive it to make sure everything feels normal

Not every truck is thrashed within an inch of it's life just because it has a big exhaust or programmer! I have the Edge on mine and I pull a 10K trailer and I don't "drag race form light to light"!JMHO
