Default New to site and need help!!!!!

Hello everyone, I am brand new to the forum and need a little help. I have a 97 2500 5.9L 12 valve cummings and need to replace the lift pump on it. I plan on doing the job myself. I was just wondering what all this intails. I have mechanical experience and from what I have read it doesn't seem to be too hard of a job. Looking for advice from people who have done this before. So if you would please help.....Mike

Has your truck been updated to the in-tank lift pump? If so, it means dropping the tank. If not, it's bolted to the side of the engine.

If you haven't already bought a pump, I would seriously consider buying an AirDog or FASS lift pump/filter.

12 Valves have a mechanical pump on the side of the engine and one of the best made no need to change other than if it is failing.They are easy to change not much can go wrong,but i would also make sure to clean the prefilter out as well when doing it ..
