48re Rumble/vibration in Park & reverse????
Hi people
Well, last night after starting up my 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 CTD 4x4 with 48re tranny I started to get a really bad rumble/vibration in the cab when I had the tranny in Park or Reverse. However, the Vibration/rumble went away in the N and the forward gears. I was wondering what is causing this issue? When I shut it down it really makes a rumble/vibration.
I have checked my tranny fluid level and color and it's bright red and right on the money for level. Also, I got a new MBRP turbo back installed about 2 months ago and thought it was this but it's on solid. Any chance it could be my driveshaft or a U-Joint causing this issue? I have been getting a bad vibration at around 70mph for a few months. Would anyone have any clues? Exhaust, Transmission regular valve or solenoid or even engine mounts?
I am off warranty and just want to kind of get an idea where I should be looking for. I was going to crawl under the truck but we are getting snowed on heavily and it's down to -20C outside.
Thanks,
Mike

Found the problem! Finally got time in the daylight to have a closer look under the truck. First thing I noticed was the tranny skidplate was so caked in ice from our slushy winter roads and then our deep freeze. It basically was one solid brick. After a good solid highway run and a little warmer temps and dropping a few lbs of ice the vibration in P & R are gone!
