Question Need Advice on 98.5 24v (what to look 4)

Hi Guys, I have a 97 2500, 12v 4x4 extendedcab auto. I am going to add to the fleet a 98.5 24v 1ton dually 4x4 5spd extended cab with an edge chip. My questions are on the 98.5. Can I expect much more power? What do I look for in ways of problems with this engine and how to fix them? What is the week link? Any coments would be appreciated
Thanks, Rebel

Fuel psi gauge is a must and a good lift pump. The injection pump is lubricated by the fuel and not engine oil psi like ur 12valve....other than that they're good trucks
