Default CTD Tranny & Diff sensor replacement

I have a 1998.5 24V CTD 4WD 3500 Quad cab. I want to replace both the "transmission and differential sensors." I have heard repeatedly that these two sensors are critical for proper transmission life and performance.

I do not have any significant transmission problems as filter and fluid changes and band adjustments keep this work truck in good order, but lately, the OD (used when not hauling, etc) is slow to shift, and the truck does not downshift as readily as it did in it's earlier, shorter toothed days.

Specifically, which sensors are these critical ones? Any thread links or help with this would be greatly appreciated, along with any advice on the slow downshifting and sluggish OD shifting.

Nobody has anything to offer? Not even disparaging comments or comedic insults?
