WasteGate Issue?
Morning and thanks in advance for helping.
A short time back a mattress came off of a trailer right in front of my 2006 Ram 2500. I ran over said mattress and tore up the plastic fascia, but my truck ran fine.
Took it in for an oil change and they called me out to look at the broken wires under the truck and told me that the check engine light was on. The check engine light was not on when I pulled in. I do not think they did anything to cause this, the mattress probably did the deed and when the kid reached up to loosen the filter he finished breaking the wires.
They pulled the codes and told me it was a wastegate error. I figured I would just splice the wires back together and go on about my day. After fixing the two broken wires I took it back to have them clear the code errors.
The check engine light came back the second time I started the truck. I located a blown fuse for the wastegate and replaced it. The check engine light cleared after several restarts.
Now for my problem. I can no longer hear the turbo and my fuel mileage has dropped from 26 MPG down to 17.
Any ideas as to where I should check next?
Thanks

You probably did this already, but if you haven't, go over the truck with a fine tooth comb and verify that everything is hooked up properly, including intercooler tubing, etc.
I had the lower intercooler tubing partially pop off on me and had similar problems. The rubber tubing connections do need to be pretty tight. Also make sure that there are no cuts to these rubber couplers.
