Could I ask if you have figured out the long cranking?

You say you replaced the VP44 however did you infact change the lift pump as well?

You may have already dammaged your new injector pump because it is being starved by the lift pump. The OEM lift pump produced by Cummins in the 24 valve units sucked big time.

Corrections have been made by Bosch to produce a good replacement.

Good luck!

Default Cranking too long when hot

Having the same problem. Even when the outside temp is a little hotter than normal (above 90°). I have recently replaced my lift pump as a preventative measure.

To much lift pressure will give u a long crank as well as a slow cranking starter Unpluged the lift pump and the truck light right up. 15 is the best psi for cooling
