Default 2007 Dodge 2500 5.9L Help!!

Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone may be able to help me out. I was driving down the highway yesterday and everything was fine. All of the sudden I went to change lanes and pass a car and when I stepped on it my truck would not go, it just kind of lugged and felt like something was restricting it from taking off. I let off and floored it again and the same thing, would not get up and go. After a couple of times the engine light came on and has been on since. The truck seems to run and start perfect unless I need to step on it. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? Thank you so much for your help.

It could be a number of things.. either see if they will lend you a code reader or buy one at your parts store and get the code it is throwing..if you want post it here i am sure one of us can point you in the right direction..

Do the key trick and get the codes. Until you give us something to start with, were just guessing.

Ok I will figure out a way to get the code. Could I do that at an autozone or somewhere without having to take it to the dealer? Also, what is the key trick?

You turn the ignition on and off 3 times and then leave it to the on without starting the vehicle. it then will blink the code which you have to watch carefully ..so just count the blinks and it they will come one right after the other..Autozone is usually pretty good as well about helping you out ..

Your truck will give you the actual code numbers where your odometer is. Write those numbers down.
