Default Bullydog 40420 VS Edge EZ module

I am looking at these to tuners. What are there pro and cons from people that use them now?
Should I consider any other tuner?

I have a 2006 2500 diesel and do some towing. I am looking for performance gains and better gas mileage when I want it.

Thanks

Look into a Hypertech Maxenergy ECON if your going for MPG and a little more power for towing

Everyone I've spoken with doesn't have good things to say about Bullydog - makes the most power they say, but destroys transmissions in doing so.

The Edge EZ has the ability to shift on the fly. It has 3 setttings that you can use. I think the "top" setting was like +60hp or so. Your transmission and turbo will be OK as long as your hp increase is under about 90hp(this is a practical rule of thumb). Smarty Jr. is also a good choice. If you have trans problems you should look into Goerend Trans. They are bulletproof--although they aren't very cheap. The first thing you should invest in is a good set of gauges so you can tell what's happening--EGT, Boost, trans temp and fuel pressure at the least.
