Default Edge - Aint worth it - Read This!

So... As you all know, I've been looking for a programmer that can give me better mileage, maybe a little more power, but most of all, monitor all the little crap that can eat away at your trucks lifespan..

I WAS considering Edge... Until I got a reply from them..

Judge for yourself.

So, am I right by reading your email and understanding it as a big, fat...

NO..

I am disappointed, as your advertising is promising something that as of yet, has not been verified by your research department. Although I could tell you, I am getting 100mpg with my bullydog, until it's verified, that statement isn't worth the bytes used to send it.

As I am sure you are aware, determining long term damage to a vehicle within 30 days is a pipedream. Relying on your dealers to back YOUR product, is unfair and ultimately leads to false promises that can not be backed up.

If you backed your product up with a worthwhile warranty, and proven mileage improvements, I'd be interested.

Let me know if you wana play ball.

Mike

Mike,

Thank you for considering our products for your performance needs on you
2006 Dodge Ram. We currently do not guarantee mileage even though many
of our customers do get better mileage with our products installed on
their vehicle. Most people see better fuel economy because their vehicle
does not have to work as hard with added horsepower. Even though we do
not guarantee mileage we do focus on making sure that our customers are
satisfied.

We do offer a satisfaction guarantee that allows you 30 days to
determine if our product is the right product for you and your truck. If
you are not happy with the product and bought it directly from us we
will give you a full refund on the product.

If you buy it from one of our dealers you may also be able to get your
money back if you are not satisfied with our product but I suggest
checking with them because return policies do vary from dealer to
dealer. Even though we encourage them to do certain things we try not to
interfere with the way that they run their businesses.

Adding any aftermarket product to your vehicle can affect the longevity
of your vehicle but most people do not see a decline in longevity of
their vehicle if they use our products correctly and responsibly, as
well as make sure that their vehicle is properly maintained.

If you have additional questions or need assistance feel free to give me
a call.

Sincerely,

Mark Hayward

Comments: What guarantee do you provide with your product that it will
perform as advertised?

You advertise improved fuel mileage.. I find that hard to believe but
exciting if you guys have actually pulled it off.

Can I return the device if it does not live up to the promisses you are
making?

Does the improved mileage sacrifice any other part of the truck (ie
Tranny, Engine Lifespan..)

I have a 2006 (not listed) Dodge Ram 3500 CTD 5.9L MegaCab. I currently
get 18-19mpg on flat terrain.

They can't guaranty mileage increases - more power leads to people using it more. You can never get enough boost, right? The mileage increases come from the engine not working as hard but it depends on the driver being able to keep his foot out of it.

That email back to you is a big fat CYA.

Ya, the part that bugs me the most out of that is that they haven't even verified it on their own testing. Its their customers that are telling them about the gains. These gains could be someone backing off the skinny a little bit, or giving more following distance because of the 'abundance of power', giving them more ability to maintain steady speed.

I just don't think they have enough information to ADVERTISE "Improves mileage"...
