Very easy quesions. what would these simple maintenance items cost?
Hey guys!! I am looking at a 2005 dodge 3500 slt online. it has 140,000 miles on it.
its a huge (beautiful) lifted truck with big tires so obviously it needs work!! the guy says it has "has new front axle joints, axle seals, upper and lower ball joints. new rear u joints, new BD transmission with 3500km, afe stage 2 cold air intake MADS smarty programmer with TNT 230hp ,arp head studs, Carter lift pump."
already seems like he replaced a bunch of stuff on it!
now he says it needs more still.
he says it needs brakes, shocks, and front drive shafts. I was wondering how much it would cost to do those things, parts and labour included. whats the worst case scenario? $500? $5000?
kinda sounds like it will be a money pit.... thats why hes selling it.
BUT, If I can get it for a few thousand below asking price it might not be so bad afterall. its a diesel with 215000km on it. 140,000 miles im guessing.
is there anything else I should look out for?
I am going to try to get him to bring it to a shop for a full inspection before I buy it to see if theres any hidden things hes "forgetting" about.
this is my 2nd lifted truck, but my first diesel.
I would appreciate and soak up any advice, tips, comments, warnings, anything!!!
he was asking 30,000$ in the ad. now he says 26,000$. I bet I can get it for 24,000$ with cash. (canadian BTW... everything is worth more up here!!)
thanks guys.
