ram dies when stopped

ram dies when stopped
Was test driving this 1998 ram (diesel) and when ever I stopped it would die this happened a few times on me. What would cause this to die on me? Any help appreciated.

manual or automatic tranny? and if its the 12 valve, just from personal experience, check the linkage, the throttle linkage and the idle linkage, wen i baught my 12v i had to reset it all cause whoever worked on it last messed it up bad, so check the linkages.
